DP27 is a residential row building in the Belgrade old town, built in 1957. The facades are oriented SW and NE and accordingly the apartments are properly placed programmatically or adequately to the standards of design of residential buildings and standards of EE and traditional construction. The ratio of the width of the street and the height of the buildings is 1: 1 and is very favorable from the aspect of light, light comfort and energy efficiency, in relation to the dense urban fabric of Belgrade. An additional benefit is the intersection with the street that is directly perpendicular to the SW facade of the building, which further opens this facade for solar gains.

The architecture of the south facade is modern shaped like a perforated canvas made of used brick. The openings are formed in such a way as to minimally reduce solar gains and light in winter, and at the same time to control solar gains in spring and autumn, and finally to form a constant shade to the thermal envelope during the summer. The building is strategically glazed on the south side in the middle, while on the north side the greenhouse is formed only in the basement so that two apartments that are of that orientation can send the energy class of other apartments in the building. In the basement on the south side, the yard was dug in order to form a yard for two new grasshoppers, which mostly improve the shape factor and whose sale would return the investment costs significantly faster.

The drawing shows the angles of sunset on the southern facade of the building during the winter, spring-autumn and summer. The intrusion is shown next to the thermal envelope without the influence of sun protection elements, and with the influence of glazed terraces for winter conditions. The elements of sun protection applied on the south facade of the building are external venetian blinds that also serve as light shelves.
